I hope the january 2006 assignment will evoke an avalanche of new contributions... Ask not what your Wiki can do for you, but ask, what you can do for your Wiki! :) --Govert Valkenburg 12:15, 9 Jan 2006 (CET)

Hey guys, nice to see the wiki is up (has been for sometime I see). It looks great! I'll be sure to go through the whole site more thoroughly soon, and hopefully make some contributions too. --Merel 14:50, 28 Oct 2005 (CEST)

The activediscuss-template is a nice feature, but I think we should issue the guideline that it should not be on an entry for more than 24 hours: it disencourages the editing of entries. It should only serve to overcome the problem that people edit it simultaneously, thus overwriting one another's contribution. --Govert Valkenburg 12:44, 12 Oct 2005 (CEST)

I think we should discuss the copyright/left license under which everyone agrees to place its contents on this wiki. Personally I think we should choose something like GNU FDL or creative commons. The most easy thing is to standardize on one type of license. This makes re-use of the information on the wiki possible for other projects. --StefanVerhaegh 10:44, 11 Oct 2005 (CEST)

Nice to see all this work going on in the wiki! --StefanVerhaegh 15:40, 10 Oct 2005 (CEST)

The categories you added make navigating a lot easier. Good job! B.penders 14:09, 10 Oct 2005 (CEST)

By the way, how about making Bart into a sysop? --Govert Valkenburg 13:29, 10 Oct 2005 (CEST)

Stefan agreed, so there you are, there is no choice left ;-) To be honest, I don't know what you can do today what you could not do yesterday, but it's a nice gesture, isn't it? --Govert Valkenburg 15:58, 10 Oct 2005 (CEST)
It turns out I can block IP adresses now and I should be able to edit protected pages. I noticed however that the main page, which is protected in all other wikis is not in ours --B.penders 16:21, 10 Oct 2005 (CEST)

Hah! I assigned categories to each page in this wiki. This means that every single page can be reached from the top category All. The only thing SysOps will have to do from now on is look for Uncategorized Pages and Uncategorized Categories (see special pages). The advantages of categories are huge, as a page can easily be 'moved' without having to check numerous lists. Just change its category! This will also provide a grip for redesigning the main page in a more efficient way, as it still has a tendency of providing too much information. --Govert Valkenburg 18:50, 9 Oct 2005 (CEST)

Did (quite...) some work on Categories, see Feedback. --Govert Valkenburg 13:08, 8 Oct 2005 (CEST)

I added 'introduction for WTMC PhDs' (welkomstpakket) and 'Tips for PhDs' to the 'general information' entry on the front page, and moved interviewing and case study research to the 'methods' section of the knowledge base. I thought they were more appropriately placed there, and otherwise the front page would 'proliferate' again... --Govert Valkenburg 14:38, 28 Sep 2005 (CEST)

I think the front page is all right now, but this is the maximum of information it can contain. We should think of other ways if there is need for more... --Govert Valkenburg 12:11, 23 Sep 2005 (CEST)

Somebody should replace the logo with something better :-) --StefanVerhaegh 15:15, 21 Sep 2005 (CEST)

Perhaps this main page lay-out is better? Tried to squeeze everyting into one browser frame :-) --StefanVerhaegh 15:14, 21 Sep 2005 (CEST)

I think this is the place to thank Sally: be it uninentionally, the list of concepts and the list of persons derive from her late-night work on the concept game... I think again that the front page is running full. We should really rethink the way of categorisation. --Govert Valkenburg 21:46, 14 Sep 2005 (CEST)

I did some 'condensing' on the front page, moving things to separate pages. I thought there was too much on the front page now, but on the other hand I'm not sure whether I like the layout now... --Govert Valkenburg 12:00, 2 Sep 2005 (CEST)

Ok, like the navigation menu it is right now, although I liked the financial donations item ;-)--82.93.105.215 11:06, 2 Sep 2005 (CEST)

I did some reshuffling of sentences... --Govert Valkenburg 10.09, 2 Sep 2005 (CEST)

In fact I was digging in the MySQL database, because this is necessary for changing the navigation panel. I suggest we leave it at this, as I don't trust myself with it (or better: I don't want to end up in a fight with Patrick...). Or we should upgrade to MediaWiki 1.5, where things have been made easier. Now I deserved dinner... --Govert Valkenburg 19.20, 1 Sep 2005 (CEST)

Wow, after some hard-core digging in the MySQL database I finally managed to delete a user that I created erroneously; not advisable to create use(r)less user names :) --Govert Valkenburg 18:32, 1 Sep 2005 (CEST)

Looks great! By the way, what exactly do we want to change in the navigation panel? In fact it looks nice the way it is; initially I thought of putting the categories there that are now on the main page, but I think there isn't a point in that... (Nevertheless, hacking php is kind of fun ;) )--Govert Valkenburg 18:32, 1 Sep 2005 (CEST)

good luck hacking php :-) | By the way, I adapted the Main page layout. Curious about your opinion. I also think that file upload is working, but is not accepting pdf or .doc files. --StefanVerhaegh 16:01, 1 Sep 2005 (CEST)

By the way, I have been hacking in LocalSettings.php; result: see navigation panel... Will work on it later. --Govert Valkenburg 14:08, 31 Aug 2005 (CEST)

Is it? I thought the portal would serve the purpose of more official announcements; I thought of this place as a place where even complaints about the weather would be appropriate. Though not on this sunny day... --Govert Valkenburg 12:26, 31 Aug 2005 (CEST)

I believe that the Community portal originally is meant for this purpose... --StefanVerhaegh 11:50, 31 Aug 2005 (CEST)

This is the informal forum of the wiki. Feel free to put anything you like here...
